Busy day today debating and scrutinising the entire budget required for the GLA group for the year 2009-2010. Incredibly neither Labour or the Liberal Democrats saw fit or perhaps couldn’t be bothered to submit an alternative and it was left to the Greens to provide the sole amendment.

Today saw the first real meeting of any substance this year with a plenary session providing the opportunity to quiz Mayor Boris in his capacity as chairman of Transport for London. Mr Johnson was supported by the Commissioner for TfL, Mr Peter Hendey.

Back from a very relaxing Christmas in need, like most of us, of a bit of motivation to get me started in 2009. Strangely enough it is the pages of the Independent newspaper that provide the appropriate material with a truly appalling rant from Yasmin Alibhai-Brown.
