“Abandon Knives or Rot in Prison”

“Abandon Knives or Rot in Prison.” Not my words, but those splashed all over the front page of one London paper tonight, and attributed to the Met’s Commander Rod Jarmin.
Explaining his response Commander Jarman added, “teenagers need to realise carrying a knife could rob them- and someone else – of the best years of their life.”
That’s what we need, tough talk and tough action. These little gangsters need to start learning that you have to live by the rules or you pay the consequences.
I’m not arrogant enough to even suggest that my London’s Mothers Against Knives campaign has had an influence on the Metropolitan Police Service yet. However, the police should start to feel more assured that if they want to come down like a ton of bricks on the criminals that are wrecking our lives, the new political makeup in London will give them full support..
